What to do while in Maui (HAWAII!) Our first time there =)?

Heyya asked:


We are not renting a car, but staying in Maui in August

Can anyone tell me some specific places to check out? Dining, LUAU! I really want to go to one, interesting things to see. We dont want to spend a whole lot, most of our time will be on the beach.

Also, how expensive it is to get flights to & from Honolulu to Maui ?? IS there a site i can go to Thanks!

    When we went to Maui we went parasailing!
    It was the best expierience
    All u have to do is go to the front desk at ur hotel and ask for a brochure!
    We only spent 3 days in Maui because we were in Oahu for 4 days
    Have Fun :)

    I just went there for the first time also, in Maui. We didn’t do a Luau because the people we were with said it was a waste of time. We went to Mama’s Fish House, it was a really cool place, but the food is extremely overpriced, I don’t recommend it, its like $300+ for 4 people. There is one awesome beach, I believe they call it Big Beach, check it out if you can. I HIGHLY recommend going snorkeling. That was a blast!!! If you can definately try to find the Big Beach, nice decent sized waves that break at the shore and a really wide open place with limited people. It may be a little more crowded since it is the summer now. Also, if interested, I would go deep sea fishing.

    You should go to the Old Lahaina Luau. If you can take the road to Hana or go up to the top of Haleakala. You can get tours from your hotel.

    west maui parasail is the best….cute local boy works on the boat, chipped front tooth, very nice, we liked him so much we gave him a 100 dollar tip…he was very thankful, said it would help with his sick sister

    parasailing was the best thing i did on the islands
