What do I wear as a groom for a beach wedding?

aquarius_rocker asked:

My fiance and I have decided to elope to Hawaii and get married there. Too much worrying about our family being mad if we chose one state over the other.

As a groom what is the proper thing to wear for it?

It depends on how formal her dress is…technically she could wear a traditional long gown, although usually people don’t do this for a beach wedding if its right on the sand, and then you would wear something equally formal like a suit or tux. If she’s wearing a casual knee length dress, then you should wear something equally casual like khaki shorts.

It depends on how formal or informal the wedding is going to be. A nice suit should be fine. Ask the bride to be, she might have plans for what you guys will wear. Good luck.

    Speedo!

No, I’m kidding. Khaki shorts and a button-up shirt. You could do a Hawaiian shirt if you wanted. It’s totally up to you. Go barefoot. I’ve seen lots of guys wear this, even when the bride wore a pretty formal wedding dress (though no long train that drags through the sand – yuck!)

    Congrats!

Ask the bride. It’s the safest thing to do.

    Hi

    Try the links below.
I like the look of flowing white shirt and long bone pants for the guys.

    Cya :)

Since you two are eloping on a beach, that usually gives off a casual and intimate ceremony. There’s no need for a tux or even a black suit. Talk to your fiance about wearing a tan or gray suit like these:

    Happy Marriage!!

Why not check out the photos at link above, then decide for yourself?

Since you don’t know how formal her dress is…just have her pick out your outfit! She’d probably like that better anyway so she can control the appearance of the wedding!

    Congratulations!

If she is going to wear a semi formal wedding dress or gown, then you could either wear a cream colored linen suit, or if it is really casual a linen dress pants with a gauze style men’s shirt…there is no right or wrong….just a black tux would not be appropriate.

    if it’s somewhat casual:
i like kakhi pants & a white shirt (untucked & no tie)
