what are the best tropical islands to visit?

My friends and I would like to take a vacation to a tropical island and i was wondering if anyone had any opinions on which one we might want to visit first and have the best time at so that we will want to go back.
we know that we want one that is warm in the winter so we can sit on the beach, has a good night life, is on the east coast (so no Hawaii b/c it is too far away), is nice all around (not just in certain areas so we can explore the whole island), reasonably priced, and of course has all the stuff that a tropical island usually offers (snorkeling, clean beaches, etc.)
PS we are all in our early to mid 20s and won’t be going till next winter probably.
